Bike Friday Tandem / Triplet bicycle with disk brakes scram dual drive hub

Description: Bike Friday Triplet, now set up as a Tandem but can be converted back to triplet. I'm a bike mechanic so the hub is serviced. Brake pads changed. Cables lubbed and changed as needed. AGAIN I"M A BIKE MECHANIC- this means up until 2022 when i stopped regularly using this bike, I throw chains out and replace with brand new yearly and replace rear cogs when needed. AND- I have my own documented service records of the work I did to this machine. ALSO I have all paperwork from factory and also the all important instruction video to convert back to a triplet from its current tandem set up. 2 sets of tires included. scram dualdrive internal hub correctly serviced with Phil Wood hub oil. Clickbox in supurb shape. This is an 8 speed cassette with a 3 speed internal hub. I bought this triplet back in 2017 used. Previous owner purchased new for around 5-6 thousand dollars. THIS SCRAM DUALDRIVE SYSTEM IS A DREAM TO USE! ESPECIALLY WITH 2 kiddies on the back. . Bicycle handmade with full chromoly and can be disassembled for travel. I have installed a rack on it and fenders. The handlebars and stem in color photos will be replaced with the straight original Bike Friday take apart fold down bar and stem set up din the black and white photos.-I'm flexible on this too. NOTE: not included will be a middle childs seat unless I can find one-which i might. Cliplets pedals not included. front handlebar bag not included. copper Bell not included. any bags in photos obviously not included. Kids not included unless buyer pays their way thru college- just kidding -I think...WHAT IS THE NEW OWNER GETTING HERE? A Tandem that converts to a triplet that was hand made and owned and serviced correctly. Chains are basically new but they are showing some rust from non use. I would recomend using the bike and change the chains fin the Fall of 2025.-I can advise more. Rear cogs will not need changing as they are hardly used and were new late 2022. Bike may have been used 10 times since then. Hub works super and is in great adjustment. Frame looks really nice but it's used and will have some scratches and some minor rust here and there. The bike has a lovely center stand too.This bike for me was a lifetime opportunity to enjoy cycling with my 2 kids and then when older guy wanted his own bike, i changed it back to tandem. in 2022-2023 daughter didn't like tandem so it sat most of the time. I have used it a few times so it works PERFECTLY. The hub oil is up to date but I will drop a few more drops of Phil Wood in there. Some people also use Tri-Flo oil too. I will discuss all of this and help new owner when they collect bike. I do think Phil wood is the best but we can discuss. SHIPPING- obviously a BIG BIG BIG issue here. Buyer should collect this as its a production to box it all up to ship. If buyer wishes to call a local shop Ace Wheelworks in Somerville and have them box this up, I can take it to their shop. They know me well and how I care for my 18 bicycles including a Jack taylor Tandem and 4 Moultons. the main sales rep and a couple of the mechanics know me and this bike. Picture notes- notice mid frame section protected in pipe wrap and green tape and stored in box. Notice top tube on rear of tandem- it is wrapped in pipe wrap and tape to protect against being scratched by little feet. THIS IS HOW THIS BIKE WAS CARED FOR.It's fairly easy to follow the included Bike Friday video to change tandem to triplet, but it does require some mechanical aptitude and common sense. Also it may require a length of scram chain which I probably have but will need to be reminded to include. If not its simple scram 8 speed chain. I'm happy to provide hints etc. If Buyer pays 2850 for the bike I will assemble with my tools too. I will also provide buyer sources for spare rear hub shifter rod and spare clickbox along with spare axle nuts. I have added a washer under the drive side axle nut which makes the clickbox fit super nice so that if bike crashes on clickbox, it has a great chance of not incurring damage. Furthermore, the crankset originally had an annoying habit of jamming the chain between the front chainrings- leading to some swearing and very greasy dirty hands on side of road! I installed a custom shaved down spacer to avoid this. i also hung a front derailleur cage to further make sure the chain behaves itself! This solved this problem. These are the details and care that that come with this particular tandem. I'm happy to explain and help more for the new buyer. I absolutely know Buyer will have questions after purchase too. I'm passionate about super mantainance and care and always ready to assist. i know my way around this bike and want to see it enjoyed again.
