Stuart fell in love with glassblowing during his senior year in college. After devoting several years to learning the craft of glassblowing he took a job running the glassblowing department at El Camino College in California. In 1977 he resigned his position at the college and founded Abelman Art Glass. It was here at his glass studio that Stuart began creating his distinctive art glass creations.His body of work includes many different types of art glass items including numerous iridescent glass pieces, paperweights, vases, bowls, perfume bottles and ornaments. In addition his studio also produces a number of figurative sculptures which includes art glass representations of dragons, frogs, whales, clowns, swans, fish, turtles and bears to name just some examples.
