Description: From our brokerage client, here's a lovely Vintage 1949 Martin 00-18 in Excellent Original Condition and a non-original old chipboard case. The instrument is surprisingly clean for a 73 year old one with no top cracks and a beautiful barely played neck, fretboard, and frets, Other than a few bumps and grinds, she's a very nice example indeed. In 1949 the scalloped bracing lent a certain volume and punch that these guitars are known for. It's also the case that the original owner only used Extra Lights on this guitar throughout it's life and the truth is that it shows. Top is nice and flat and the guitar has not had, nor does it need, a neck reset. Fretboard and frets have only a ghost of human touch. The top is remarkably crack free and no sign of interior cleating and the bridge plate is original. There is some evidence of work wear around the bridge and it's possible that the bridge has been reglued. There are a few old and stable fractures on the back, otherwise she's a beauty!
