Description: Beautiful Early Framed Hand Colored FASHION PLATE Riding Gown Print, 1938 Click images to enlarge Description OLD FRAMED FASHION PLATE PRINT Gorgeous old framed under glass fashion plate early print on stock paper measuring 11-1/4" tall and 9" wide. Featuring a notched wood frame bearing muted gold paint, it houses a striking 1790s Fashion Plate featuring a woman in neoclassic style red riding gown with top hat and feather plumes, she stands next to a horse with English saddle and companion rider in the background. Gown is highlighted with wide collar, lace jabot, tight sleeves and long trail for draping over a horse rump when riding side saddle. I removed this from the frame - bottom edge is marked HAND COLORED PUBLISHED 1938 ARTISTIC PICTURE PUBLISHING CO., NEW YORK CITY. Condition is very nice - no damage to the print although I think it has been trimmed to fit into the frame. The tiny black dot on the horse's flank is the result of production, not damage. Frame has minor paint rubbing - complete with substantial hanging bracket. A striking piece and a wonderful view of the fashion's of the era. If questions, please contact me, thanks!
