Description: On July 12, 1997 MLB permanently retired Jackie Robinson's # 42. That Saturday the Pirates had numerous players available in a sweltering heat to sign autographs. I took my 3 kids & 2 baseballs. Each ball has 14 autographs and 8 of them played in the historic game later that day, ending with Mark Smith's 10th inning HR. Ricardo Rincon is on the ball but not the hero Francisco Cordova, resting away from the 95+ degree heat. We witnessed the 8th ever "combined no-hitter" In MLB history by Cordova & Rincon. Smith started the fireworks with his blast & then a massive fireworks show made it an amazing day/evening. I'm sure this is a rare ball, I have 2 to sell. Players autographs, * = played in game: Mark Smith*, Ricardo Rincon*, Tony Womack*, Jose Guillen*, Lou Collier*, Kevin Young*, Dale Sveum*, Jason Christiansen, Steve Cooke, John Ericks, Jason Schmidt, Jermaine Allensworth, Jon Lieber, Keith Osik.
