Description: This is an interesting piece of Banded Iron with some purple on one side. (first picture) and a nice pattern of bands and swirls. It weighs just over one pound. It measures approximately 4 inches by 3 inches by 1.25 inches. It has a weak attraction to magnets. It was found in central Wyoming. Banded Iron is at least 1.8 billion years old and formed of iron, hematite, magnetite with chert, jasper or quartz. It is also known as Seer Stone, Tiger Iron, and Genesis Stone.Banded Iron is thought to have metaphysical properties including opening closed chakras, grounding, channeling energy, repelling negative energy, and healing.
