Description: This is a beautiful Japanese flower vase made by the famous Shuho kiln in Arita. The design is Ko-Imari (古伊万里), referring to ware from Arita during the Edo Period (1603-1868). This vase was made and signed by the Shuho kiln, which continues the tradition of this design since the Edo Period. The vase dates back to around 1950-1960. The mark on the bottom of the vase reads "Shuho" (秋峰) and is written in mirror in Japanese. Even for Japanese people, this kanji is difficult to read as it says "hoshu" if read in the today's common way. This vase is fascinating and beautiful, representing traditional Japanese attire of the Edo period. The design features a touch of gold and blue, and the reddish-orange color unique to Ko-Imari ware.
