The pendant features a large tear-drop shaped opal with a chocolate brown matrix with tan striations. Mined in a Koroit opal field in Paroo Shire, South West Queensland, Australia, this magnificent opal has veins of fire and color running through the brown boulder. The primary color spiderwebbing through the matrix is neon lime green but the opal also flashes vivid sky blue, indigo, and purple. The opal is large but subtle and "moody." Its fire is quite subtle in dim light, but in bright sunshine or bright indoor lighting it springs to life with flash and fire (see the video). The opal is set in a "shadowbox" design, in which the bezel set stone is recessed in the teardrop frame. The ring has a wrap-around band, though it is not adjustable.
