Description: VINTAGE ~ DECO STYLE ~**~ CATHERINE POPESCO ~** ** CRYSTAL & ENAMEL **PIN or BROOCH _______________________________ SIZE: This pin measures approximately 7/8" in height; 1 & 1/4" in width (Highest / Widest Points) DESCRIPTION: This auction features a vintage Catherine Popesco pin or brooch. This piece has been styled to emulate the Art Deco period -- and does so incredibly well. The front has a scalloped or waving style edge, with a deep, forest green enamel center. Surrounding this, there are alternating patterns of a coral enameling and sets of three, tiny clear crystals. This almost gives the illusion of a two-braided line. The entire front does appear to have a thick, clear sealant on it to protect the entire piece. The back is a silver-tone metal, and it is marked on the bottom middle with, "CATHERINE POPESCO, FRANCE." It bears a safety clasp closure, as well. It is a neat vintage piece and would be a lovely addition to any Catherine Popesco collection. This pin appears to be in Fair condition for the age and use of it. It does have some minor usage wear seen -- mostly in the form of light surface scratches and very minor silver-tone metal wear. Otherwise, the pin does appear to be doing fairly well. The safety clasp pin closure does still open and close securely. All crystals are present and the enameling does not have any cracks or chips (likely thanks to the clear coat finish). There is some minor storage soiling seen, but I'll leave any polishing and/or cleaning to the new owner. With age and use considered, I would still say this pin rates in Fair condition overall. AGE/YEAR MADE: Although exact age is unknown, I do believe this pin is vintage.
