The bronze figurine is of the boy-character, Pierrot, made famous by Peter Tereszczuk, an Austrian-Ukrainian sculptor. Pierrot wears his typical clown costume with cap and neck ruff Peter Tereszczuk was born in Wybudow, Ukraine in 1875. He studied wood carving at the school of Arts and Crafts in Vienna under Hermann Klotz. The majority of his work was made between 1895 and 1925 in Vienna. Tereszczuk is known for his bronze Art Nouveau and Art Deco sculptures, primarily figures of boys and girls. Please note: the nose of the Pierrot figure has some damage (see photos), and the green onyx tray has been cracked. Measures approximately 6" tall x 5-1/4". Please contact me with any questions.
