Description: For your consideration at this wonderful auction is one vintage working Apple 300i SCSI Internal 2x CD-ROM Drive. The SCSI connection is 50-pin. It has model numbers CDU561-25 and CDU8003, the unit was manufactured between 1992 and 1994 in Japan. Drive operates at a maximum of 2x speed, and uses an insertable caddy cartridge for the disc (1 caddy cartridge is included with each purchase). SCSI ID is preset to number 3 by default using the SCSI jumper pins in the back, like most other SCSI CD-ROM drives that were installed internally by Apple. Item was pulled from a working Quadra 840av. Some units may have tape over the control bezels from Apple because they are internal OEM configurations where the headphone jacks and volume control were not used behind the bezels. This does affect the performance of the drives ability to load a CD-ROM disc. Some drives may have wear and tear on the units from storage, with brittle plastics that may include stress lines and dents, and metal surfaces may have partial sections containing rust or corrosion as they were pulled as parts from the machines they were in. Drive is tested working with a caddy cartridge and sold as-is. Cables and any other accessories, such as software discs, trays and SCSI adapters are not included. I will ship international.
