It depicts the principal highlight events of the mission from launching through post-recovery activities of Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, and Michael Collins. Through television, motion picture and still photography, the film provides an "eye-witness" perspective of the Apollo 11 mission. Film 2: Apollo 13: Houston, We've Got a Problem (1970s) COLOR Runtime 28 Minutes This film depicts attempts to return the crewmen of the Apollo 13 mission safely to earth following an explosion onboard the service module. The film emphasizes the Mission Control and spacecraft teamwork that overcame the life-or-death problems of Apollo 13, as well as the worldwide reaction to the crisis. Film 3: Highlights 1965: A Progress Report (1966) COLOR Runtime 39 Minutes A detailed overview of many projects undertaken by NASA during 1965 including the manned space program, research, and technological advances. Disc 2: Film 4: Moonwalk One (1970) COLOR Runtime 94 Minutes Please note that this DVD has no menu, it goes directly to the film. This film details the comprehensive coverage surrounding the July 1969 launch of Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins to the moon. The film details activities of both the astronauts and mission control during pre-launch and launch sequences, daily activities aboard the spacecraft and the moonwalk, and provides a view of the historical and cultural events of the time. The footage includes clips from science fiction television shows such as "Flash Gordon" and "Buck Rogers," as well as a lengthy segment on American rocket pioneer Robert Goddard. The film also explores some of the critical preliminary stages of the Apollo program, including medical testing of the human body in space conditions, as well as the assembly and testing of space suits as worn by the astronauts.
