Description: I am continuing the long process of selling off folk art, textiles, and books from three different collector estates. Due to the volume of items, my descriptions are shorter that usual, but my commitment to accurately representing everything that I sell remains. Please review all of the photos before bidding. If you have any questions about any of the items for sale, please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll be more than happy to answer in more detail directly. This auction is for an antique tent hanging, believed to me a torba bag face from the Yomud tribe, Turkoman. It is quite heavy and large, measuring 52" x 13" for the woven panel with fringe of around 34". I believe it is made using a combination of wool and silk threads. The condition is quite good with a small repair to the lining fabric on the back. The fringe is a bit messy in places, but not overly tangled or knotted and it can be smoothed out without much trouble. A nice piece.
