Description: WROUGHT IRON TABLE SALTERINI STYLE GARDEN with glass SIZE-S-3, white porch table, wrought iron, 42" long x 30" wide x 30" tall. A mid century or earlier garden table of good quality and would be a nice accent for indoor decor or your garden. It is with scrolled work-balanced design . This one is full of character and in an “as found” condition. A great table in a hard to find size. Probably dates back to the 1940's or 1950's. Good condition with age and rust blemishes, part of its character and look is attractive as is for an architectural appointment-But if it were sanded and freshly painted it would look elegant.I do not know the maker but it is in the style of Italian designer Salterini. DECORATIVE , FANCY AND NOSTALGIC This is one part of this Southern Antique collector's possessions , who as the old homes were destroyed back in the 1930's- 1950'd, this collector carefully salvaged the old mantles and stored in for more than half of a century. The Newspaper article said."Maybe the collector didn’t even remember where it was stored or why he had saved it all those years. Maybe just because he liked it , with no use in mind. But the fact remains that, in depths of the Great Depression when the decorative features of razed residences might be had, at least, for carting them away at most, for a song. This collector did a lot of singing! His acquisitions, in any event are incorporated today in some of the old south’s pretentious homes. He owned many old homes here and as they were torn down --he managed to salvage much of the fencing , marble mantles, brass door knobs..etc.. Whether it may have been made in America or imported , it would look great in a home or garden .
