Description: Fabulous wooden drum shell manufactured expressly for George Kappel Instruments Fifth Ave Pittsburgh PA.The drum measures 15" across and 9" tall. Walnut perhaps? The hand painted skin adds an inch. The skin reads Allegheny (cut off) I was only able to find a little about George Kappel - born 1847 in Allegheny PA and died in 1914. Gorgeous piece for display.Very good condition in original warm patina. Please see all the photos.
