Description: An oval or oblong shaped glass bowl made by the United States Glass Company. The pattern, Loop and Finecut, was introduced in 1901. The exact year of manufacture of this bowl in unknown, but the company was closed in 1962, so between 1901 and 1962. The pattern is pressed into the outside surface of the bowl so that the texture can be felt, while the inner surface is smooth. It has a beautiful scalloped design at the top edge, with a more ornate design at the base. The bottom of the bowl is decorated with sunray or starburst pattern. The looped pattern gives the bowl an antique look, and would be a wonderful piece to display on an antique side board or chiffonier. 8 1/2" long, 6" wide and 2 1/4" deep. There a few tiny bubbles here and there in the glass that look like they were there from the time of manufacture, and are not noticable. Overall condition is excellent. Hand wash only. Not microwave safe.
