Description: Antique Vintage 1919 Paris French Lace Silk Textile. Based on the date and location, I believe (not sure) that this piece was manufactured for the Inter-Allied Games (Military Olympics) held in post-WWI Paris. They were a series of military competitions held in Paris, France from June 22–July 6, 1919. The games were organized by the YMCA as part of demobilization efforts after World War I and featured hundreds of male athletes from Allied nations competing in 13 sports. Lovely textile with the date 1919 threaded in the center in flag patterns. Reads "Souvenir De France". Features orange silk with off-white, floral lace trimming. This textile measures 19" x 19". It has a few condition issues with some light stains and an area of the silk has torn fibers/thinned. The tear measures about 1 inch x 1/2 inch. It has typical creases/wrinkles from storage. Please see all the photos. Sold as-is. Overall, it's quite beautiful and captures the essence of nations united. It would look wonderful displayed in a frame and makes a unique addition to your history/textile collection.
