Description: Up for sale is a fine snuff tobacco container made of a dried gourd, decorated with engraved gilt silver mounts, and inset with carnelian and lapis cabochons. The ram horn-shaped sterling stopper is attached to an elaborate handmade silver chain. This tobacco container was used by the Turkman tribes and has acquired a lovely patina from age.It's in great condition and measures 6 1/2 inches long by 2 1/4 inches thick.
