It appears to be a studio portrait of a man who is either a train conductor or a postal delivery person of some type based on his uniform. He is leaning against a wood fence-like prop. The corners of the tintype have been trimmed which I'm assuming was done to put inside a frame or book. Overall, there are some scratches and marks which are typical to tintypes but the clarity of the photo is very nice as you can see.
