Antique Sun Purple US Glass Co #15092 "Stars in Bull's Eye" Nappy Bowl~5.5" Dia

Description: Up for your consideration is a RARE estate find....a Sun Purple glass Nappy bowl made by the US Glass Glass Company. It is pattern #15092 "Star in Bulls Eye", circa 1905. It is 2" high, 5.25" diameter across the top and 2.5" in diameter at the footed base. It has no chips, cracks or scratches, but does show some wear around the gold areas. Note: I purchased this item from a family member of the original owner, and it has been in storage since 1965. I am note sure if this is the case with this item, but often times Lavender glass is a result of vintage glass that contained manganese dioxide and it has a tendency to turn different shades of purple when exposed to the rays of the sun or to other ultra-violet sources. ... This changes the manganese compound into a form that causes the glass to turn purple.
