Description: This antique French eggcup has three stamps, two being the prestigious Minerva 1 hallmark which indicates 950/1000 silver content. It was used from 1838 to 1973 for Paris. The other stamp is the maker mark for "Maitres Orfèvres"; Deschamps et Frères.Deschamps et Frères were the silversmiths, their stamp changed many times but it always was a D and a F separated by the head of a rooster. The design is typical from the Art Deco Period, three simples lines and an elegant sober shape. The last photos are reference about Deschamps et Frères as recognized Silversmiths.Their shop was located at 46,rue du Rocker, Paris from 1923 to 1960.THE LAST PHOTOS INCLUDE A STERLING SILVER SPOON MUCH OLDER AND FOR SALE AS WELL IN ANOTHER LISTING.
