New items added daily. Thank You for looking! Beautiful Antique hand engraved Triptych Art Reliquary by well known French craftsman R. Wicker. Originally Silverplated over a Copper and Brass base, this rare freestanding religious art piece opens on two smooth hinged “doors”, to reveal the famous vision of the Virgin Mary as she appeared in a Grotto at Lourdes, France c. 1900. Framed on each side by hand engraved Scripture (written in French) the silver finish has worn away extensively, to reveal the warm pink colour of the copper base metal. Over 120 years this wear has added a genuine old world charm and character that only comes with time! This gorgeous French antique Triptych has a heavy brass easle style stand on the back, and can be displayed open, showing the vision of Mary in the Grotto, or Closed, showing the exquisitely detailed engraving of the front panels…each set with a small silver “doorknob” that can be used to open the Art piece.
