Description: C. 1890s Handmade quilt. Purchased in Tennessee, but unsure of its origin. Certainly Southern in design and construction. I love the scrappy make-do binding, which changes fabrics 15 times! The maker was letting nothing go to waste The blocks might be "Contrary Husband", but I see multiple designs with that name online and I'm not sure which is the original. This quilt has some round corners and some square corners. Some straight lines and some wonky lines. It lays flat, but it's not square. Wabi Sabi, as the Japanese would say. Hand quilted in echoed diagonal rows. 57" x 76". There are many areas of discoloration seen from the back, and in some cases these are visible from the front as well. There are some loose threads, but no noticeable holes or exposed batting. No odors. My home is smoke free, pet friendly. I use pirateship and will refund an overage when possible.
