Description: This is an antique, vintage, real photographic image showing Hildreth's Grocery Store, Unadilla, N.Y. c1910. Unadilla is in the town of Unadilla, at the south town line on NY-7 at the Susquehanna River. Two young men on horses are identified on photo back, as John Vroman and Seward Mulford. The brick store on Main St (NY-7) was built in 1904--the date is seen in stone above each of the upper floor windows. This store today is known as the Hildreth Building and it is part of the Unadilla Village Historic District—surviving no doubt because it is brick. Next door building in photograph has sign “Walter A Wood, Harvesting.” The building has a sign on roof that says Hildreth—it is not shown in this photo. WOB. Corner crease lower left. Size: 5” x 7”. Please view scans closely for condition. I’m a dealer in RPPC and have no expertise in photographs. This photo was written on and identified as Hildreth Grocery Store by a family member in the 1950s. I wonder if they used a negative to develop this photo then or if it was developed c1910 when I believe it was taken. Payment is appreciated within 3 days of auction end.
