Description: 19th century Old Paris porcelain vanity decanter / bottle with a hand painted portrait of two young ladies and enhanced by all-over lavish bright gold and cobalt blue. These were used on dressing table to hold cologne ("toilet water"). Old Paris (or Vieux Paris) refers to the numerous porcelain factories clustered around the capital from circa end 18th century through the 1850's and sometimes the dates can extend to the third quarter of the 19th century. Many factories signed their work but just as many did not. This bottle has no maker's name but simply 4 hash marks on two sides impressed into the base. I believe this piece dates to circa mid 1800's. The portrait colors remain vibrant and the gold on the body of the bottle is nearly all intact. It is monogramed - please blow up the picture to see that the actual monograming initials are made up of very tiny hand painted flowers! As far as condition there is a hairline stress crack above the monograming and a chip on underside of stopper, it does not show from top and does not run into gold or rim. Please see photos for additional details. Measures 6 1/2" tall by 2 7/8" wide Standard shipping $9.50 USPS mail. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, thank you.
