Description: Eastern Woodlands Iroquois demi- purse with extensive raised bead work front AND rear. Delicate floral designs with beaded handle. Please note that a fringe loop has burst , but the beads were salvaged and requires minor restoration. Based on the type of bead work and materials, my best guess is Mohawk of the Iroquois nation, located in southeast Canada and Northern New York state. 1875-1895 era. I need to point out that there are people who know a lot more than me about this topic than me and this is a "best guess".
