Description: Antique Morimura Brothers (Noritake) Nippon Hand Painted Porcelain Chocolate Pot -Maker: Morimura Brothers (Noritake) -Pattern: Unknown -Dimensions: 8 3/4" tall to the top of lid finial x 7" long (spout to handle) x 5 1/2" wide (diameter at the base) -Quantity: 1 Chocolate Pot -Material: Porcelain -Made in Nippon (Nippon is the Japanese word for the country of Japan; American trade officials allowed the use of the name "Nippon" on imported goods until 1921, when "Nippon" was deemed a Japanese word - from then on "Japan" was required at the country of origin.) -Condition: This chocolate pot has a small chip on the top rim (see 8th photo) and wear to the gold trim and floral decor (see all up close photos) - it has no other chips, cracks or crazing. This chocolate pot was made some from about 1911 to 1921 when the Morimura Brothers company (later to be renamed Noritake) used the "M" in a wreath mark - the word "Nippon" also means that it could only have been made before 1921.
