Description: CONDITION: Excellent, first quality, no defects. This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufactory, or KPM, in 1919. It has impressed date letters indicating this year. The plate measures 10 1/4 inches in diameter and is 1 1/4 inches deep. The first Potsdamer Stadtschloss (City Potsdam) service was produced for Frederick the Great, King of Prussia in the late 18th century. The tradition of reproducing these cherished services has carried on through the centuries. The painting on this plate is particularly unique in that there are 3 clusters of flowers instead of just one. The flowers are superbly hand painted in art nouveau style. Colors are vibrant, giving the flowers realism and depth. It has molded relief decorations that are hand painted and accented with gold. Wing-like ornaments are suspended from the gilded border. The reticulated border is an impressive 1 3/4 inches wide. Every inch of porcelain is designed and executed to the highest degree of artistic excellence.
