Description: This listing is for an Antique Jewish Bronze Yahrtzeit Yizkor Grave Memorial Box Candle Holder with a Star Of David and Hebrew at the top. This box has a door that swings open on 2 hinges with glass in the door and a knob for keeping it closed. This has a beautiful antique patina. Also at the top is the Hebrew phrase "נר ה׳ נשמת אדם", which means "God's Candle is the Soul of Man" or "Man's Soul is the Lamp of the Lord". The inside has the Hebrew word "תבנית", which means form or pattern but perhaps was the name of manufacturer. This box measures 7 3/4" tall x 4 1/2" wide x 3" at its deepest. It weighs 3.1 pounds. There are 2 small holes in the back and 2 larger holes in the bottom as well as partially covered hole at the top to let smoke out but not allow rain to enter. Sadly, I don't know the history of this piece. We purchased it about 25 years ago. It looks and feels old, but I have been unable to learn anything more about this piece.
