Description: This antique Victorian bodice cape top is made of luxurious black velvet silk and jet medallions and features intricate beading. The bodice is petite in size, with a shoulder to hem measurement 24” small with forms in the top and is suitable for women. These pieces came very small to fit the small waist of the petite woman. The top would not reach around the mannequin so pictures of back of bodice is off the mannequin. Note the name of the dress maker in the bodice and shown in photos. The bodice is an original piece from the late 1800s. It was made in Europe and has names dress maker inside bodice and has a classic Victorian look. The bodice is ideal for collectors of vintage clothing or those who appreciate unique and stylish pieces. Could be a lovely museum piece. I am including a beautiful original glass jet necklace 14 k tested and may be higher. Only have tester to 14k which is choker style. This necklace was purchased with the top in a southern estate sale many years ago. A vintage 1800s Victorian Edwardian jacket / bodice top of rich chocolate velvet with corset waist spiked pieces huge puffed sleeves and hand stitching. The top has some beautiful medallion on the v shaped neck. The medallions are made from black jet beads. The velvet has some wear but is a rare piece of historical feminine wear.
