Description: I am currently working on selling off folk art, textiles, and books from three different collector estates that have all asked me for help at the same time. Due to the volume of items, my descriptions over the coming months will be shorter that usual, but my commitment to accurately representing everything that I sell remains. Please review all of the photos before bidding. If you have any questions about any of the items for sale, please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll be more than happy to answer in more detail directly. Since the quantity of items is so high, everything will be listed for sale at very attractive prices, well below retail. If you are interested in folk art and textiles you will want to check my auctions daily for new, affordable treasures. This auction is for a pair of silk panels with metallic gold embroidery from the turn of the 19th century. They were acquired together with a collection of Bohemian costumes, but I do not know their true origin. While the materials and techniques hint at Ottoman design, they do not look like any textiles from this region that I have handled in the past. Truly unique and impressive works of art. The silk fabric has many stains and some minor splitting along the edges. There are some missing sequins, but the embroidery remains in good condition. Each panel measures 17" x 6".
