Description: High quality French by Japy Freses 8-day wind two train suspension spring solid brass plate movement inserted into a polished black stone case – case accented with Malachite stone; ornately gilded & incised motifs etched into the entire clock face & base; a long horizontal base on which stands the impressive stone clock flanked by 2 supporting scroll black stone side pieces; stonework masterfully executed; modest sized clock case in near perfect condition – minor previous stone repair to right rear case corner. French white porcelain 3 ½” diameter faceplate with ornate gilded brass trim contains black colored Roman numerals onto a white colored chapter ring; accented with black colored French style Spear & Spade hour/minute clock hands; a small FAST/SLOW adjustment gear centered above numerals; matching number adjustable weight pendulum to clock movement’s serial number; front gilded brass door frame fitted with a clear heavily beveled glass snaps shut against the gilded ornately designed clock surround; the backside contains a second hinged solid brass panel door set into a brass door frame as a friction fit; a steel coil gong resonates beautifully within the clock case; clock case is designed in black stone accented by the 2 dramatic stone scroll side pieces supporting the clock case flat roof; both movement & gong assemblies are mounted securely to case. I am an antique clock collector wishing to reduce my clock collection. This clock comes from my collection & has been running successfully for several years with no difficulties. It has been tested prior to this offering. Clock set-up to establish the correct “beat” is paramount to the clock’s operation, accomplished through placement & leveling (sometimes with rotating the movement while in the clock case). Additionally, temperature & humidity may affect it over time as well. Do not over wind the clock. Lastly, I cannot not guarantee the clock’s operation once shipped. I do take pride as a seller and buyer of these clocks. All shipments will be carefully wrapped in bubble wrap (key & pendulum wrapped separately) set tightly into box containing Styrofoam peanuts, tapped shut & then placed into second box (as may be necessary) filled with padding for added protection, taped shut on all sides.
