Antique Iron Tsuba Edo Era Japanese Rare Open Work Sword katana from Japan ■ Condition: USED The Heian-jo tsuba (sword guard) from the Edo period, with gold inlay and an antique box set.The paulownia wood box dates back to the Edo period and is entirely inscribed with handwritten spells. It uses a cushion made of Oshima Tsumugi fabric. The tsuba itself contains a copper coin and a small black lacquered compartment.The Kyo-tsuba (Kyoto-style tsuba) has a nakago-ana (hole for the sword tang) of about 3cm, is made of iron, has a diameter of 7.5cm, and is 3.5mm thick. It features a gold inlay design of Chinese bellflowers (kikyō). As this is an antique item, please be aware that there may be wear, minor scratches, stains, and patina due to age.
