Description: Antique c1880's Dominich and Haff large sterling silver Queen Anne style dresser, trinket or jewelry box. Incredible style and design for the period. The box measures 9 1/2" long x 6" wide x 6 1/4" height. The box with cardboard liner has a gross weight of 1000 grams(32.1 troy ounces) and the actual silver weight is 933 grams(30 troy ounces). The box itself is in very good condition with only a small ding in the front just to the left of the keyhole. The lid closes tight and flush with the base with no looseness in the rear hinges. There is no key for the lock. The original vevet coated cardboard liner is somewhat tattered on the underside and loose around the sides inside. It shows wear. The box is stamped on the underside at the leg tops. Sterling, 586 along with early Dominick and Haff maker's mark. There are no monograms. A rare find that has held up fairly well.
