Description: This phonograph is missing parts and has not been tested, so it is being sold as is for parts, repair, restoration or display only. The exterior case measures approximately 12 inches long by 8 inches wide by 12 inches tall including the top handle. The horn, reproducer and crank are all missing. There are also several screws and bolts missing in various places throughout the exterior, which I will try my best to detail below. The exterior case is moderately dirty and dusty throughout and could use a good cleaning, especially on the top, along the center edges and along the bottom edges throughout. The exterior of the case shows moderate scratching, scuffing, general wear and finish wear throughout, especially on the front label throughout, along the center edges throughout and along the bottom edges throughout. The top of the bedplate is very dirty and dusty throughout and has some areas of caked on oil and grease throughout. It could use a good cleaning. The bedplate surface shows moderate to heavy scratching, scuffing, tarnishing, pitting, general wear and plating wear throughout. There are some areas of surface rusting in various places, mainly along the back side edge. Two of the securing screws are missing on the front casting on the front left and the back right. Several other mounting screws are moderately loose throughout and could use tightening. The painted portions of the top casting on the bedplate are very dirty and dusty throughout and have areas of caked on oil and grease throughout. The painted portions show moderate to heavy scratching, scuffing, general wear and paint wear throughout. The front casting that lifts the reproducer arm assembly does not appear to function as it should, so some adjustment will likely be needed. There appears to be several parts missing in this location as well. The mandrel turns freely and is not frozen. The lower interior is very dirty and dusty throughout and could use a good cleaning. The motor is quite dirty and dusty throughout and has a good amount of caked on oil and grease throughout. It could use a good cleaning and reconditioning. As is typical with Columbia phonographs, the reproducer weights are in poor condition and will need to be replaced. The motor does run with some coaxing when the belt is removed, but it does run a bit slow. The motor does not run when the start/stop brake assembly is engaged, so some adjustment and/or repair will be required to resolve this. The left side belt wheel assembly has a significant amount of grease throughout its surface and is quite loose throughout due to a loose screw on its center, so it will need some adjustment and securing. The bracket on the right side where the crank attaches sits quite low in the casting hole and as a result a crank currently couldn't be attached to the bracket. This will require some adjustment to resolve. The motor springs do seem to be intact as they hold tension when hand turned. Since I don't have a crank for the phonograph, I am not able to say with 100% certainty that the springs are intact. This would be a great project for restoration. See pictures for a better idea of condition and completeness.
