Description: Being offered is a antique Carl Thieme, Dresden, Germany, quatrefoil-shaped, demitasse/tea, cup and saucer with hand painted decorations of courtiers with background blue & white colors, flowers and gold scrolls, c. 1890-1900. Back mark corresponds to wares produced from 1888-1901. Possible repair to edge of cup with a deposit of grey paste (see photos.) Not sure if this residue from use or a kind of factory repair. No attempt at removal as the paste does not detract from the aesthetic of the piece. Area is stable with no cracks.
