Fitch Curtis's Botanical Vol. 102 Framed Crocus Lithograph U.K DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful framed botanical print, clipped from Curtis's Botanical Magazine, Vol. 102, which was published in 1876. This print was done by famous botanical illustrator/artist Walter Hood (W.H.) Fitch and was turned into a lithograph print for the magazine by British company Vincent Brooks Day & Son. It is labeled "6211" on the upper right corner; whoever had it framed also had the identifying caption clipped and mounted at the bottom of the print. It reads "Tab. 6211. CROCUS Weldeni, Native of Dalmatia." The print itself shows several white crocus blooms, as well as small cross-sections of its anatomy. Professionally matted and framed in a gilt wood framed with geometric details, and ready to be hung and enjoyed! CONDITION: Print presents well and is in very good antique condition, with minimal to no wear and patina commensurate with age and display. The paper has minor toning and some small spots of discoloration. It does not appear to have any tears but it has not been inspected out of the frame. The frame has some wear, tarnish/patina and a few losses. Please review all photos before purchasing.
