Description: This antique bronze urn or vase from Japan is a stunning and VERY RARE piece of artistry from the Meiji Dynasty era. The vase features a seal, on the bottom, by a talented craftsman, Yoshida of Kyoto; sculptor to the emperor during the Meiji Dynasty! The vase is made of high-quality bronze material. Its age is estimated to be between 1850-1899. It is an all original piece with a beautiful darkened patina to it and some verdigris on the inside of the unit. Our antique bronze vase depicts intricately designed birds and flowers in raised relief with natural accents around the vase and face form handles on the side. It is in fair to good antique condition. The only flaw is a splinter crack on one side. See pictures for details and close ups. It is 8 1/4" tall, 9" at the widest point with a diameter of just under 5" and weights 4lbs 2oz.
