Description: Antique 1860s GORHAM MFG CO Solid SILVER MUG Gold Wash Interior Stella. Used. Ships via USPS priority mail. Here is an antique silver mug with a gold wash interior made by the GORHAM MANUFACTURING COMPANY in the 1860s. It is personalized with the hand-engraved name “Stella.” This silver handled mug is in overall very good, used condition, no dents. The only flaws are in the multiple light surface scratches throughout the body, and a few dark spots on the inside at the bottom of the gold wash interior. See close-up photos for detail. These light surface scratches could be removed by a professional buffing and polishing. The maker’s mark ANCHOR and GORHAM MFG. CO. were used before 1868, after which GORHAM started using the word STERLING in its production. (See Dorothy T Rainwater’s book Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers.) This silver mug was acid-tested and the results are positive for silver. The silver mug is marked on the bottom with the Gorham ANCHOR over GORHAM MFG CO and a production number 055, along with a hand engraved number 2 over the anchor and a number 11 under 055. See all photos. This silver mug is approximately 3 1/2 inches high by 4 1/2 inches long by 3 1/8 inches wide, and weighs approximately 4.86 Troy ounces. Made in the USA before 1868. .... .... .... .... .... .... .... buyer pays all shipping and handling costs via USPS priority mail with insurance. Buyer please note: this is a final sale, no returns.
