Description: Very rare original 1859 Philadelphia merchant catalog, "Catalogue of Hosiery, Gloves, Fancy Goods, & c., for sale by Fred'k Paxson, No. 504 Market Street, above Fifth, South Side, Philadelphia." The catalog is softcover and is in overall very good condition with some minor signs of wear and age. The paper covers have some mild soiling and wear. The binding is good and sound. There are a few small holes to the front and back blank flyleaf. The catalog is 94 pages long. There is a lined memoranda page adjacent to each page of goods and some lined pages at the rear for notes on particular items. Those pages all remain unused. The interior is lightly toned from age with some occasional light foxing & grubbiness. Along with that there is likely the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection such as a creased page corner, small chip or tear, minor stain or marking, etc. Generally though, it's a nice copy. The catalog measures approximately 5 5/8 inches by 3 7/8 inches. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
