Description: Amazing possibly Aztec or Central American excavated artifact. It measures approximately 7 inches in height and 4 inches at the widest part. This came from a very reputable collector that owned a highly important collection of antique and ancient artifacts. They were a constant world traveler with an emphasis in the Asias and Central America. This has a convex base so it doesn’t sit flush or flat, the top is concave so it has a small dip in the top. This could have been a part of an ancient building, perhaps a stone piece that was mortared in a corner. This also could have sat in a base as a stand alone relic. Condition is up to the buyer, it is been appraised as in very good condition due to the age. As you can see half of it was sitting below a water line while it was in the ground. We are not sure what type of stone this has been carved in. We are always continuing investigation with pieces such as this. This artifact was acquired through an estate with the only information available as a excavated possible Central American or Mayan ancient artifact.
