The owner of Gettysburg Relics was the proprietor of Artifact at 777 on Cemetery Hill in Gettysburg for a number of years, and we are now selling on eBay. FROM THE WILLIAM 'BILL' A. REGER COLLECTION ~ These two American Civil War Dug relic fire-melted lead bullets, (soldiers often used cartridges as fire starters, and melted lead puddles also resulted from casting bullets). These pieces, weighing a total of 1.6 ounces, and measuring 1 1/2" by 7/8" and 1 1/4" by 7/8", were found in the 1950s or 1960s by William A. Reger, of Berks County, Pennsylvania, one of the great early relic hunters. Bill relic hunted at a variety of sites from the 1950s to to 1977. He passed away in Reading, Pennsylvania in 2011.
