All functions operate smoothly and quietly. This 3 RU unit is from a smoke free environment with very few minor scratches on the face, sides and back. Bottom and top have a few scratches from racking and unracking. No rust or corrosion. AC cord is attached and included. Size: 5.25”/ 3 RU (~ 13.3 cm) tall x 19” (~48.3 cm) wide x 7.5” (~ 19 cm) deep Weight (approx): 7 lbs 4 oz (unpacked) The 1699A is a well-made, all-metal-cased, Mic Preamp Mixer that is used as a six channel to one mono mixer output. You get excellent microphone preamp for a low cost. These are also popular to modify to convert to a 6-in/ 6-out mixer so each preamp may be used separately. This unit has not been modified. Each microphone input has a 3-pin XLR connector and an option of using the dip switches to supply up to 56db of gain. Altec pre-amps have a prestigous history related to the famous 'green face' version that featured on many Motown records. This particular model is early 1980's. It also has phantom power but unfortunately not 48V. Probably is 12V which would was used on many older microphones from the era or the Altec brand microphones.
