In making the request on behalf of his son, Berman goes on to thank Ginsberg for the pleasure his work has given him over the years and asks, “If there is a modern work which you (Ginsberg) wouyld particularly recommend, or something on the way I would appreciate your including a note.” Ginsberg literally goes on to write profuse book recommendations in response, detailing works from other titans of the Beat Generation, namely: Jack Kerouac, Gregory Corso, William S.
