Description: Old master Albrecht Durer woodcut print of The Martyrdom of the Ten Thousand 1497 measures about 15 5/8” x 11 5/8” narrow margins close to the border. Laid paper is heavily toned has a slight crease upper right and two 1 cm tears on right edge - has remnants of adhesive material on the back where it was affixed to some previous frame matting. Good evenly inked and dark Meder g impression (Joseph Meder 218) displaying from the woodblock: worm hole damage in Kings ermine/mantle, older wormhole appear repaired. Watermark with crown and BFK initials. Nicely framed with matting but probably needs new archival framing.
