Description: This very unusual painting is by Albert Londraville (1922-2015). He studied under the famous Russian American Master, Nicolai Fechin, and Albert was a MGM scenic artist who painted movie backdrops. Albert also studied at the Lukits’ Academy of Fine Arts and often painted together with Theodore Lukits on site (plein air) and in the studio (still life’s). During this time, Albert studied both Japanese Sumi-e and Chinese Brush Painting and Philosophy. See his full bio on my website www.albertlondraville.com. I acquired most of the large collection of paintings from the Albert Londraville estate and this is a “one of a kind” painting. It is a painting of a statue of a Chinese figure. Albert titled this painting, “And Sun That. Is Gone”, and he applied a texture to the entire board prior to painting this composition. You can see this texture in the photos for the listing. I don’t know how Albert applied the texture, perhaps using a substance and heat, but it relates to the images in the composition (maybe applied in conjunction with the initial drawing). No matter, it is very unique. The card on the back of painting includes the title of the painting “And Sun That Is Gone”, “by Albert Londraville”, and includes Albert’s personal chop/seal (stamp), his inventory number “10002”, and “oil”. This is the first time this painting has been made available for purchase. This painting is mounted in a beautiful black and gold frame. The painting (oil on board) is 30” x 24” (36” x 30” framed). This is a showcase painting for your home or office. See “Seller’s other items”. Over 200 original paintings at 50-75% off gallery prices, including 100 at less than $500.
