Description: Tax stamps have always existed concurrent with postal stamps, being used in various documents domestically and abroad of the Albanian territory. Thus, they have best represented our national identity, despite their small dimensions. They represent an expressive force of the nation, the state, the law, the justice system, and wherever they travel, they elegantly exhibit our Albanian symbols. These stamps have attracted the attention of many philatelists, who have included these stamps in their collections as precious rarities. The lack of more comprehensive material on these stamps has always represented a gap in this collectors' domain or philatelic class. By completing and presenting by means of this catalog almost all the stamp values that were used in Albania from 1921 through 2021, I have tried to clarify and provide the most comprehensive picture and history of stamps in Albania. Admittedly, there are also absences in certain exhibits, which, over time, will eventually complete this elegant and varied puzzle. The early formation of the Albanian State necessitated its own stamps for tax collection. Based on the following documents and materials, a first issue of stamped values with entirely Albanian elements is seen in 1921, which will proceed in continuity with other releases, which will vary in image, color, indentation and size. Initially, my passion and hobby for stamps, along with their documentation and history, prompted me to compile this catalog; Subsequently, having very few and incomplete references available about these stamps, I tried to shed some light through this presentation on Albanian taxes. Prince Vid's stamps with the overprint "SHKODER," the double-headed eagle and the inscription "Stamp Tax" (1920) displayed in different values.
