Description: tape condition is a little rough at beginning of movie. Scratchy until Kaneda’s theme kicks in — in fact it’s rather awesome, because it looks like damaged footage as it shows you the nuclear blast, and slowly transitions to good quality as the music starts. Tape is has small crack but works. I’m pretty sure it’s just dust and small hair particles, not mold, in the inside of the case, and unfortunately I can’t get my photo any clearer. I wouldn’t play it in my VCR if it was. Slipcase has minor water damage. As far as I could tell, the next cheapest listing online was 300 dollars. Mine is in worse condition, but even at 300 dollars I feel uncomfortable selling this, since this movie feels better on VHS, and Akira is better subtitled than dubbed. I’m in no rush to sell this. I still might watch it from time to time.
