Description: A holy grail of film memorabilia, Madadayo is the thirtieth and final film to be completed by Akira Kurosawa. The jacket is 30+ years old at this point and was gifted to a select few members of the production cast, staff and crew in 1992. Truly a special and rare treasure. Condition : Pre-Owned/Vintage Jacket has minor cosmetic wear *coating has begun to fade due to the age of the outer polyurethane material. Other than that, there is no noticeable damage or imperfections on the garment, the hiragana paint strokes look great and the interior lining is as warm as it was 32 years ago when Kurosawa was directing on location at the base of Mt. Fuji. I have seen less than 3 surviving examples of the Madadayo jacket in the past 14 years, this jacket is by far the best out of those listed. Other jackets have sold for around this same price point and have been in pretty rough to decent-ish shape, nothing quite like this jacket that has been preserved in near perfect condition.
