Gonzalo Bulnes Title: 3 publications on Bolivia bound in one volume: Bolivia's Right to an Access of her own to the Pacific (Ballivian, 1920); Taca, Arica, and Cobija (Baldivia, 1920s); The Final Settlement of the Rights of Sovereignty over Taca and Arica, in the lige of the History of the War of the Pacific (Bulnes, 1920s) - first title inscribed to US Bolivian ambassador Publication: Paris: NP, 1920 - 1925 Description: Hardcover. 3 publications, the first inscribed to Stephen Bonsal from Ballivian (he meant Philip Bonsal), who was part of the US-Bolivian diplomatic corps in 1944, when he urged Secretary of State Cordell Hull to respect the intentions and legitimacy of the leftist MNR; Hull ignored Bonsal's advice and forced the removal of MNR members from the Bolivian cabinet; Bonsal became US ambassador to Bolivia 1957-59 where he was in charge of a functional and successful US aid program. These three publications are bound in quarter calf and cloth boards, and are bi-lingual: English and French, ca. 300 total pages, large folding map. The first publication has an addendum sheet from 1921 acknowledging a change in government in Bolivia while the book was in press. Light rubbing to leather, some pencil marks and notes by Bonsal to texts; very good, and rare. Very Good.
